Beginnings.

Access Lifts Hawaii was founded on the concept of service. The owner and CEO of Access Lifts Hawaii, Geno, came back from serving in Vietnam in 1966. He began working in the elevator industry, learning the trade and servicing of elevators in Hawaii. For 23 years, he dedicated his life to the elevator business. But little did he know that this was just the beginning.

Inspiration.

Geno’s mother soon became ill, and experienced many difficulties. As her health became worse, she became more and more isolated from the outside world. One of her biggest obstacles was maneuvering her way through her house on her wheelchair. She struggled to get up and down the stairs to the outside world.

Discovery.

In order to help his mother, Geno began to search tirelessly for answers as to how to help solve his mother’s access problem. But it seemed that no one had the answer. It was during the 1980s, when laws still didn’t provide protection and aid to those with disabled family.

He took his two daughters to California, and together they researched and studied to find answers to this dilemma. They wanted to help their aging mother experience the world.

Innovation.

When Geno returned to Hawaii in the late 1980s, his mother had passed away. But his resolve to help people who experienced problems similar to him never died. With previous elevator experience and now the knowledge to help those in need, he was ready to take the next step.

In 1989, he founded Access Lifts Hawaii, dedicated to servicing those people that are trapped and can’t leave their homes due to no fault of their own.
